Sucra Seal Fire Retardant Insulation

Sucra Seal is a sugar based polyurethane spray foam insulation. This product is has the advantage of being fire retardant. Because of the fire resistant quality of Sucra Seal, we use it extensively. In fact, Sucra Seal is our default open cell insulation. It has excellent sound insulating properties and will make your home safer and more enjoyable.

When Sucra Seal is sprayed into a floor, wall, ceiling, or roof deck, it expands and fills all cracks, crevices, and voids. This creates an effective air tight seal which guards against air infiltration, the number one source of energy loss in a structure. It also becomes a fire retardant barrier.

Higher R-values

High R-values and reduced leaking everywhere it is sprayed, Open Cell Insulation allows for the use of smaller, less expensive heating and cooling equipment. The smaller HVAC unit uses less energy and is quieter. The result is a smaller monthly utility bill, a quieter and more comfortable structure, improved indoor air quality, and a stronger defence against mold and mildew. Open Cell Insulation, unlike traditional insulation (fibrous cellulose & fiber glass), is not fiber based and contains no harmful particulates that can cause irritation or allergic reactions. SucraSeal has the additional advantage of being a fire ret ardent.

Open Cell Insulation has significant advantages over conventional insulation materials:

  • It permanently and completely fills and seals all voids everywhere it is sprayed.
  • Open Cell Insulation offers better overall thermal performance at nearly the same net cost as other products. Since conventional insulation materials can settle, they cannot seal from stud to stud, around outlets, or on horizontal surfaces.
  • Conventional insulation can lose its insulation value if water or moisture invade the wall cavity.
  • Open Cell Insulation is not affected by time or moisture, it will not settle, it does not support mold growth, and it offers no food source or nesting materials for rodents and insects.
